We are so consumed by the latest Facebook post or by the most recent photo of our friends that we have forgotten that we have the power - the power of our reach. Now, this may sound silly, but it is so true. Within the palm of your hand alone, you have the ability to reach millions of people with one click of a button. So, my question to you is: How Well Are You Managing Your Potential?
This 3-Step Guide will help you unpack the potential that has been lying dormant, while propelling you into action by providing you with the tools to unlock your circle of influence.
Step 1: Know the "Who"
If we know what we have, then we are able to use it. It is only when we are uncertain of the resources available to us that we mismanage or mishandle what is available. The key to knowing is to research. You cannot and will not know what lies within your circle of influence until you go out and seek what you do not know. I have often heard the phrase, "you do not know what you do not know, until you know it," and as an entrepreneur, this statement could not be any clearer. I encourage you to establish relationships with friends or to network with others in person or via the worldwide web. The information that lies within the palm of your hand is only as powerful as the person using it.
Step 2: Know Its Function
Consider the body, for a moment. A hand will always act and feel like a hand. It does not have the capacity or intellect to transform itself into a brain. It can only operate within its capacity. As an entrepreneur, I am not suggesting that you limit your pursuit of various resources, but I am suggesting that you know and understand the function of those resources. What good is a resource if you are unable to manage it? If you don't believe me, just ask your grandparents about the function of their phone. You have the power, but you must understand its function.
Step 3: Maximize
Now, this is the easy part. Go, work it! Everything lies within the grasp of your hand so reach as high as you can and stretch as wide as you can because everything you need lies within your ability to know and understand where to obtain it. If you do not maximize your potential, then you will always be trying to fill holes that are already filled. The potential is there; you must simply MAXIMIZE it.
